How to do a Rabona
The Rabona is a fancy way to kick a soccer ball.
The Rabona can be used as a pass, cross or a shot in soccer.
Key Points:
1. Plant foot a few inches from back of ball facing your target
2. Swing kicking foot around the back of your plant leg
3. Curl foot to use outside of your foot
4. Make contact underneath the ball
5. Turn shoulders to face target on follow through
Equipment Needed: ball and four cones
Soccer Exercise Player Can Do:
Set up four cones as a square target. Practice doing the Rabona kick into the square until you feel comfortable. If you wanted to really challenge yourself set up a trash can and try to do a Rabona kick and land the ball in it!
What Player Could Be Doing Wrong:
If you are having trouble making clean contact make sure your plant foot is not to close to the ball. It should be behind it.
If you are not getting enough height on your pass then you are hitting on the top or middle part of the ball, make sure you make contact underneath it.
