#12 Soccer Training Session

This soccer tutorial will have a focus on soccer volleys.


Equipment Needed: 

A few cones, a goal and as many soccer balls as you have! If you don't have a goal then use a wall or fence. 


0 - 5 minutes: 

Warm Up; jog and stretch. A few leg kicks to get the groin really warmed up. 


5 -- 10 minutes:

Passing, shooting or pinging it up against the fence. Just get your legs good and loose. As the ball comes back to you check your shoulders to practice your speed of play. Maybe do a move or two, just get good and loose. 


10 -- 15 minutes:

Take all the balls you have put them in a pile. Toss the ball up and side volley it in the net. Do some off the bounce and some out of the air. Full and half volleys. Repeat for 5 minutes. 15 -- 20 minutes:

Toss the ball with back spin, chest it, thigh it or head it forward, hit a full or half side volley. Repeat for 5 minutes. 


20 -- 25 minutes:

Juggle with your feet or thighs a few touches. Then hit it to the side and hit a full side volley out of the air. Repeat 5 minutes. 


25 -- 30 minutes:

Free juggling. Feet, thighs, shoulders, tricks. Whatever you got! If you go for a new juggling record be sure and update your OnlineSoccerAcademy.com juggling chart. 


Bonus Tips!

Before you hit your volley make sure you have a quick glance at the goal to see where the goalie is, then focus on the ball. 

Once comfortable on your dominant foot, try your non dominant foot. Be a two-footed player!

If you want to extend the training session time then add on time to any section you want extra work on. 

Make sure to finish with cool down and stretching. If you are up for it add on a few sit ups and push ups!
