#5 Soccer Training Session

The 30 minute soccer training session #6 is an Online Soccer Academy soccer training video you can do in your backyard on your own time, outside of team soccer practice. 


Equipment Needed: 

5 cones, a soccer goal and as many soccer balls as you have. If you don't have access to a goal then use a fence or wall. 


0-5 minutes: 

Jog regular for 2 minutes. Then do a variation of leg kick exercises. Leg kick in the front, sideways and backwards. Do some of those leg kicks that make you look like a Joga Bonita Brazilian too! Finish with stretching. 


5-10 minutes: 

Set up a start cone. Soccer balls are lined up in front of goal about 12 yards away. Sprint and pass the ball with pace in the corners of the goal, then spring back to start cone and immediately repeat. Don't go for power; pass it in because we are still warming up. After you shoot all the balls, repeat until five minutes is up. 


10-15 minutes: 

Set up start cone on the side of the goal. All balls by the start cone. Set up an end cone about 15 yards ahead. Set up three cones going across the goal to show the path of how you want to pass the soccer ball in the net. Dribble with ball to end cone, do a Cruyff or any move you like, change pace and when ready open your hips and body to pass it into the far post low and hard while dribbling at speed. From this shooting position the goalie will be closing you down at the near post, which is why we want to shoot far post. Repeat until balls are finished, then repeat until time is up. 


15-20 minutes: 

Basic and Advanced Inside to Outside ball work using same foot. Do right foot for 30 seconds then switch to left. Repeat until five minutes is up. 


20-25 minutes: 

Set up a start cone about 20 yards away from goal. Slowly dribble up to defensive cone, do the inside to outside move, change pace and fire off a quick shot either shooting for power using your laces or passing it in a corner. Go for 5 minutes. 


25-30 minutes: 

Juggle using all parts of your body. Maybe go for your juggling record and whatever your high score is for the day be sure and update your Online Soccer Academy juggling chart on your OSA profile to track your progress! If you are an absolute champ at juggling then try to juggle for 5 minutes straight with no drops. 

If you want to extend the training session time then add on time to any section you want extra work on. 

Make sure to finish with cool down and stretching. If you are up for it add on a few sit ups and push ups!
