#8 Soccer Training Session

Here's a new soccer training session for you to do.
The cool down ending is a little tough and will really challenge your skills.

Equipment Needed: 5 cones and a soccer ball.

0-5 minutes:

Warm up with the ball. Dribble around the field doing moves as you go. Go slow, go fast. Mix it up.

5-10 minutes:

Angle your cones in a line. Dribble to each cone, do a pull back V, then accelerate to next cone. Don't go full speed the whole time, change pace. Then when you get to end cone, sprint back. Rest, Repeat 7 times. For tips on how to do the pull back v search our "Soccer Training -- How to do a Pull Back V" OSA training video.

10-15 minutes:

Speed of Thought Training -- Pass the ball against the fence and as it comes back to you check your shoulders before receiving it and passing it back. When checking your shoulders you are looking for defenders, attackers, space, runs, etc. Sometimes pass it back against the wall as if you had a man on, sometimes turn and go forward. You make the choice. Just make sure you check your shoulders!

15-20 minutes:

Dribble to cone, do a 360 using the outside or inside of your foot, shielding the ball from imaginary defender, then accelerate to top cone. Light jog back. Repeat 5 times, rest and then repeat until 5 minutes is up.

20-25 minutes:

Shuttle Sprints with the ball. Set up a three cone shuttle sprint with a start cone. Rest 30 seconds in between each round. Repeat 5 times. Juggle during rest period for extra work.

25-30 minutes:

Juggling on the move! Set up a start cone and an end cone about 20 yards apart. Juggle while walking to end cone using feet, thighs or head. Walk down and back while juggling. Once comfortable doing it on the walk, try it on the jog. Go for 5 minutes!

If you want to extend the training session time then add on time to any section you want extra work on.

Make sure to finish with cool down and stretching. If you are up for it add on a few sit ups and push ups!
