How to Shoot like a Barcelona Youth Player

Today we are learning a shooting exercise inspired by a Barcelona youth player. 

Exercise to Practice:

Your partner will pass you the ball near the penalty kick spot. Control the ball and imagine the three cones in front of you are a defender that has closed you down. You aren’t running at full speed so you need to do an attacking move that allows you to create extra space versus just using your pace to get by a defender. The La Croqueta is great for this. Do it around the defender and then pass the ball in a corner of the goal. A low, firm pass for a finish. Jog back and repeat till you are out balls. Then set up and do a few more sets or switch with your partner. 

What’s Wrong:

If you keep hitting the cones when you do your move, then you are taking your touch forward.

Bonus Tip:

Do what the goalie shows you. If they are on the right side of the goal, pass it in the left corner.
