Abs Exercise Session #1
Today we are learning a few exercises to strengthen our core.
There are many different core and abs exercises. I am going to show you just 3 core exercises I do regularly at the end of my training sessions. Having a strong core is important because your abs are the center of your body's strength. It will make you physically more powerful and improve your balance and stability.
Plus it's always nice having ripped abs when you are at the beach!!
1st -- Crunches
Lay down on your back, cross your feet, hands behind your head and then crunch up to engage your core. Do not have your hands put to much pressure on your head and neck. Your hands are meant to serve more as a holder of your head and neck while your abs do the work. Do 2 sets of 25 crunches.
2nd -- Elbow to Knee Crunches
Lay down on your back, put your left foot on the ground, knee up in the air, then take your right foot and cross it on your left knee. Your left hand only should be behind your head, your right arm resting on the ground or on your abs. Crunch up and bring your left elbow to your right knee. Do this 25 times then switch to right arm left knee.
3rd -- Toe Touches
Lay down on your back and put your legs straight up in the air with a slight bend in your knees. Crunch up with your arms extended straight in the air and touch your touches as you do a full crunch. Repeat 25 times. That's one set. Do two!
This is a light core workout and only three abs exercises of many. Feel free to do more reps or sets of this Core Training Session if you want extra work.
