40 Yard Freekick Knuckle Ball Goal

What. A. Strike. Alexander Stølås scored this sensational 40-yard free-kick for FK Haugesund against Molde in the Norwegian league yesterday. Liningu up the 40-yard free-kick, it seems the Molde defence were anticipating a ball into the box rather than an audacious effort on goal.

I can't write his full name correctly because I have an American keyboard but Alexander Stolas of FK Haugesund scores a sick free kick goal!  What a knuckleball!

Watch all the way to the end.  In the last slow motion clip you will see a close up of the ball.  I don't think I saw it take one entire rotation.  It looks like it picks up speed at the end too.  

Great goal!

Santi Cazorla scored a nice free kick goal in the FA Cup final this weekend.  Arsenal came back to beat Hull 3-2.  

His technique isn't how I teach it in our OSA training video but there are a lot of similarities.  My feeling is always to develop the fundamentals and then add your own unique style.  If it makes sense to add your own style. 

Cazorla doesn't lean back when he shoots and he lands on his shooting foot.  This is more of an advanced style. 

Learn how to bend or curve a soccer ball in this Online Soccer Academy training video. Key Points: 1.) Bottom inside corner to outside top corner 2.) Approach from an angle 3.) Plant foot a little behind the ball 4.)

Practice your bending this week.  Bending or curving a ball is great for scoring free kicks, shooting from distance, crossing and making passes.  

Get the fundamentals right and then try to see how Cazorla's style works for you.

I'm not sure what the announcer is saying but I'm pretty sure it's something like, "What a gooooaaaallll!!!"

Bale basically kicks it by the defender, turns on the turbo charge, burns the guy and calmly scores through the keeper's legs.  Incredible.
